Rape is compelling an individual through physical
force, drugs and/or alcohol, or duress to engage in sexual
activities, or intercourse.
We believe that no one deserves to be sexually
assaulted. Our services support survivors and their families
by providing information and referral, advocacy, support groups, and
counseling.
Our program is designed to help individuals
recover from both recent and past assaults. Separate support
groups are in place to accommodate children, men, and women.
A survivor is not required to seek medical
treatment or file a police report to utilize our services.
However, for health and wellbeing, we encourage medical care when an
assault or rape occurs. A call to 911 can assist you with
connecting to a rape crisis treatment center.
Our program offers confidentiality,
compassion, strength and the opportunity for healing.
Professional support received during the recovery process may be the
deciding factor in how quickly and how well you return to a healthy
life.
New members often feel uncomfortable or
nervous about coming in for services. Many find it helpful to
discuss their concerns over the phone with the program director.
